Les was Michael’s first coach, from the age of 6 to 12, and he still provides invaluable feedback to his son. Les was a talented cricketer himself having played grade cricket for Wests for several seasons from 1970 / 71.
Les owned and operated an indoor cricket centre at Hoxton Park in Sydney’s west for a decade, where Michael honed his batting skills after school most days.
He has been a long-time coach of junior cricketers, and still coaches young kids at the Preston Cricket Club.
Les has been a front seat observer of Michael’s rise to Australian cricket captain and will provide invaluable mentoring to the Academy participants on what it takes to make it at the top level and how to get the best out of their abilities.
